Somehow I’ve been on Twitter (some people call it ‘X’ now 😉 since 2011.
I just went back to see what the first thing I ever “tweeted” was and it was this on NYE 2011:

I’ve never looked for and don’t really want any significant following on there. I really just used it as a brain dump until I created this blog.
Somehow I’ve posted on there over 5000 times, which is insane.
I can go months not posting anything, then rattle about 10 things off in a matter of minutes.
Sometimes I can’t believe the things I’ve written. I must the be the only person in the UK that is entertained by my own writing (lol).
But anyway, yeah – Twitter/X serves no real purpose other than it’s quite fun just to write a quick thought out now and again and let it go into the universe.
One day I know I will just stop writing anything about what I’m thinking, about me or my thoughts.
I like the fact Samuel Pepys did this. He wrote diligently for 10 years and then just stopped.
In case you’re wondering, he stopped because his eyesight was failing him, which is a pretty good reason 🙂
I’m just not quite there yet.
You are welcome to follow me as long as you’re not a nosey neighbour or friend I see in real life (I don’t see the point in that, there’s nothing left to talk about if someone is checking up on you 24/7 online).
One day when I’m retired, sitting next to a lemon tree I am going to pack it all in and just enjoy the lemons.
I can’t wade through 5000 posts so I’ve downloaded my archive and I’ll post what AI thinks is my funniest/best posts since I went down the Twitter rabbit hole.
[Will update]
Until then…
