Short Thoughts. No Filter. (<280 Characters)
Not everything gets posted elsewhere...
The claim ticket was still valid.
The coat stayed longer than its owner.
The morning shift left the ledger open again.
I have developed a daily points system:
1 Point – If someone says to you, “I like it hot, but not THIS hot.”
2 Points – If someone informs you we are the middle of a heatwave and how long they expect it to last.
3 Points – If someone tells you the actual temperature today like they have some kind of inside intel.
4 Points – If a stranger stops you in the middle of the street to converse about the collective temperature endured. Also add a bonus point if they have knowledge of Manny’s Little Book of Calm.
5 Points – If you see a naked streaker running across the fields while you are out for a walk (quite rare)
6 Points – When someone starts talking about the weather, rather than humouring them, simply cartwheel out of their proximity until they are no longer within earshot. It’s very important that you cartwheel as oppose to making your exit in any other manner.
7 Points – If you reply with something along the lines of, “Well, I love this weather myself. Can’t beat getting a good sweat on. I’m literally dripping (pause).”
Then flaunt a bodypart. It could be as little as a forearm or as much as a whole leg. This part is flexible.
Also add 7 points if you add the element of surprise and tell the weather complainer you are going home to open the fridge and stand naked in front of it just to cool off. Then tell them you have to go because you’re buying strawberries and cream as a refreshing accompaniment to this endeavour, before bidding them good day.
